McKinney Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Annual Liaison Training

The session is designed for LEA McKinney Vento homeless liaisons AND for school level staff (principals, social workers, transportation staff and registration staff/school secretaries) to learn the requirements of the EHCY program and to focus on strategies for the identification and enrollment of homeless students which is best achieved through collaboration with members of the school team who work with students every day.

An overview of the McKinney Vento EHCY program and its requirements will be presented, together with guidance to assist LEAs with creating, reviewing, and updating their LEA McKinney Vento Homeless Education policy for addressing or resolving MV situations, and using written procedures for carrying out and providing evidence of meeting these requirements.

The morning session (9:00 AM- 10:30 AM) is designed for the LEA homeless liaison and secondary school staff.

The afternoon session (1:00 PM - 2:30 PM) ) is designed for the LEA homeless liaison and elementary school staff.
