RIDE Data Warehouse training |

| My name is Scott Gausland and I work for the RI Department of Education. My role at RIDE is to build a longitudinal data system using the data we collect from the districts and schools in order to make that data available to you all over the web. This project is called the RIDE Data Warehouse. One of the applications of the RIDE Data Warehouse project is called the PC Analyzer application.
This email is to let you know that we have scheduled several training classes for the RIDE Data Warehouse – PC Analyzer application. There are 4 workshops scheduled, approximately one per week, in March and April.
This one day class is for anyone interested in learning how to use the PC Analyzer application to analyze student achievement in your school. You will learn the basics on how to log into the system and then create reports from the data stored in the system.
The RIDE Data Warehouse has recently been upgraded to include new sets of data. The system now has 6 years of student enrollment and 4 years of statewide NECAP data stored. As well as class rosters, LEP, In$ite, student mobility & attendance and more. The system includes the following data sets:
NECAP Reading, Math and Writing (grades 3 – 8): 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09
NECAP Reading, Math and Writing (grade 11): 2007-08, 2008-09
NECAP Science: 2007-08
Student Enrollment: 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09
Class Rosters, which includes courses, subjects, teacher names: 2007-08, 2008-09
Daily Attendance: 2007-08
Discipline: 2007-08
Special Ed Census: 2007-08
LEP Census: 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08
In$ite: 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07

If you want to attend this class, but are not available for one of the workshop dates scheduled, no worries, we will have many more classes in 2009. I will be scheduling this training periodically in 2009, striving for one every week.
