RIDE - important message on october enrollment reporting as related to State testing |
Dr. Ken Gu - SEA |
As you already know, RIDE will be for the first time analyzing the Fall State test results based on the students' demographic and program status information you are about to submit in your October enrollment reporting to the Stae.
While the procedure to submit the October enrollment data is similar to the other quarterly enrollment reporting, we would like to highlight the following for your attention.
1. Student's Race, Lunch and Gender: these are 3 of the key NCLB categories which we use to group the students' academic performance. They need to be absolutely accurate and timely.
2. Students' IEP and LEP status: another 2 critical NCLB categories which we use to classify students' and schools' performance. This time we will be relying on your Census data (except the following districts/schools) to determine a student's IEP and LEP status as we have discovered that your Census data are more accurate and timely. You will still however need to include these two fields in this October enrollment reporting. For Little Compton, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Scituate, Foster, Foster-Glocester and Glocester, your October enrollment reporting will be used to determine a student's IEP status.
3. Enrollment information: any duplicates of enrollment have to be resolved in a timely fashion. Delay from a single school/district may affect the rest of the districts to sign off their reporting.
