Dual and Concurrent Enrollment Issues at RIC |
Mario P Goncalves |
To Data Managers,
RIDE and the three institutions of higher education are still trying to resolve registration issues for students that are enrolled in either dual or concurrent enrolled courses. This is very important because we want to make sure that all students that want to take advantage of this program, have the tuition paid, and receive credit are registered properly.
RIDE has found two scenarios that need to be addressed. We have loaded a file in the District Exchange that has the following tabs:
• RIC Reporting – District Not (Rhode Island College reports that the student is registered for a course but your District does not report that the student is registered)
• District Reporting – RIC Not ( The District reports that the student is registered for the course but Rhode Island College is not reporting that the student is registered)
RIDE asks that you work with your guidance counselors to check:
• RIC Reporting – District Not…. Is the student taking the course in question? If so, register him/her in your SIS and indicate in the Notes column of the spreadsheet. If not, please note in the Notes column and RIDE will follow up with RIC.
• District Reporting - RIC not … Is the student taking the course and seeking credit? If so, have the student register at RIC and indicate in the Notes column of the spreadsheet. If not, please ensure that this student is not being reported as concurrent enrollment in the Dual / Concurrent Reporting tool of your SIS.
Once the changes have been made, upload the document to the District Exchange and input a ticket to the help desk indicating that the spreadsheet is complete. Please complete this by March 7th .
Thank you,
Mike
