Perkins Accountability Sequencing – Data Verification
As you may be aware, the RICATS collection has been retired through data optimization efforts at RIDE. The Perkins Accountability Sequencing has been introduced as a way for schools to review and signoff on the sequencing of CTE courses. Using the TCS and Enrollment data collections, RIDE has streamlined the data collections to compile the relevant data behind the scenes to minimize the effort of the schools’ data staff. However, it is important for school staff to verify, update and signoff on the sequencing of the courses and to verify that every course has a sequencing number. The Perkins Accountability Sequencing application will be open on July 20.
End of Year Data Reporting and Validation
To facilitate the Perkins Accountability Sequencing, the End of Year data is due by 4pm on Friday, July 17th.
To facilitate the submission of your data by the closing date, we suggest following the upload schedule below, with one file for the entire district as a complete year to date upload:
1. Enrollment
2. Attendance
3. Discipline
4. TCS: Course
5. TCS: Section
6. TCS: Staff
7. TCS: Student
Once you have finished uploading the enrollment and attendance data, please verify the student membership numbers (ADM) and attendance (ADA) as these are critical for EOY reporting and drive State Aid. RIDE calculates the ADM and ADA (state calculated) based on your school calendar and daily absence records. You can view these by choosing the appropriate report from the Report Types dropdown menu. When viewing these on the student listing page in the Enrollment Census, the ADM/ADA numbers will be bold and colored if there are differences. Hover over the specific number to see information about the discrepancy.
Districts will also need to check duplicates and demographic differences in the Enrollment Census. All duplicates and demographics must be resolved before the above deadline.
RIDE has updated their data policy to not allow any modifications to the data once signed off. It is now critical that this data be scrutinized prior to final submission and sign off. Please review the following to accomplish the end of year reporting.
Before July 17, please make sure that:
1. You have resolved all of the remaining duplicates and demographic errors
2. You have used the baseline numbers and previous years' reports for consistency checks
3. You have reviewed the reports with business managers, program and district administrators.
The following end of year reports must be signed/faxed (or scanned and emailed) by the superintendent at the district level by Friday, July 31th:
1. Submission Report
2. Absence Unexcused
3. Absence Excused
4. Absenteeism
5. ADA - State Calculated
6. ADM - State Calculated
7. Early Dismissal
8. Suspensions Report - Total
9. Suspensions Report - Unique
10. Tardy
11. Truancy Report
If you have any questions, please submit a help desk ticket at support.ride.ri.gov.
